US Justice Department Tightens cell-site simulator Rules
« on: September 08, 2015, 05:56:39 am »
The US Justice Department (DOJ) has published a new policy regarding its
use of cell-site simulator devices commonly known as Stingrays.
Government agents will need to obtain a warrant before using the
technology to locate mobile devices. They will be prohibited from
gathering communication content, including pictures, and must regularly
purge the data they do collect.
