Can't share files from library.

Apologies if this is the worng forum.

I'm trying to add a file to my library of files. I can't see why it's not entering. It's in a folder where all other files show. So can anyone hazard a guess as to what my fault is? :)

What kind of file is it?
And have you enabled that type of file to be shared?

Two good questions, and I'm unsure about either of them.

Windows Media Audio/video file according to the windows folder. I tried to enable it by adding WMV and WMA to the list.

Hi Jester,

Have a look at this thread about the .wma files and why they are not shared by WinMx by default.

http: //forum.winmxworld.com/viewtopic.php?p=6516#6516

Let me know if you have any other questions about these file types..

Hi Me Here

That was interesting reading. I'm downloading CDex and I'll try it on the video files tomorrow. Thanks for the help.  :D

What do you mean by DVDDecrypter no longer around?
I've downloaded it only yesterday from here: http://www.mrbass.org/dvdrip/
So even if development  should be on hold you can still get it ;)

Thanks TheMacDaddy and nylly444. Unfortunately I don't think those apps can help me. I recorded the file onto VHS last year and just yesterday copied and edited it down to the three minute music video clip I wanted. It's sitting in my shared folder, but it just won't load for me to share with others. :(

But thanks for the help anyway. :)

Well the version is 3.54 beta 4.

The extention is difficult to say, but using properties the Type Of File says it is Windows Media Audio/Video file.

Ok Jester,

Here are the possible types of files those could be, so what you do is simple...

Add them all to shared types of files.. then refresh the shared folder.. if its still not there let me know..

.wma, .wax, .wmv, .wvx, .asf, or .asx

Hi again Me Here

Another thing my TV Tuner card does is give me the choice of mpeg/MpegII. It then saves them as the above files I mentioned.

Forgot to add and missed the edit time: I choose MpegII.
