License Plate Reader Data Exposed

The Electronic Frontier Foundation learned that more than 100 automated
license plate recognition (ALPR) cameras were exposed online. In some
cases, the camera live streams could be accessed. ALPR systems capture
images of license plates and alert authorities when they spot a plate on
the "hot list." The data are collected and stored even if they belong to
cars that have nothing to do with criminal activity.
