A version of the Cybersecurity Information Sharing Act (CISA) with most
privacy protections eliminated has been incorporated into the omnibus
bill, which is likely to pass as the bill comprises a large portion of
funding for the federal government. As currently amended, CISA no longer
requires companies to anonymize data they turn over to the government,
and it broadens the scope of purposes for which the government may use
the data.
