Spotify made its comments as it filed an official anti-trust complaint against Apple in Europe saying it "limited" consumer choice.
Apple took the unusual step of replying via a public statement clarifying how the App store worked and the fees it charged. "Spotify wants all the benefits of a free app without being free," it said.
In a blog Daniel Ek, co-founder of the music-streaming service, said it had decided to file its anti-trust complaint because Apple had changed App store policies to "purposely limit choice and stifle innovation".
It might turn out for the best if theres some movement in the online music market-place but as always it seems the first to market captures the lions share of customers and its well known that many dont like changing their habits, be it in regard to online banking or simply prioritising their favourite colour, for this reason I see the need to make some noise but I dont see anything actually changing.
We must not forget that the recording industry owns a big slice of Spotify and so to put this in its real context this is simply an attempt to cause market-place disruption for Apple whom has the most to lose,
