« on: April 13, 2009, 01:18:31 pm »
As we are all changing season and our opinions of music at different times. Lets see if we can get some themes of music happening and what our favourites are.

I have 3 I can think of so far:

romance

party

heavy metal

Lets see what our list can be....

www.buzzoutroom.com

shameless plug but hey... its what i like... so i post the link for others to hear...

and then;

www.creativecommons.org and www.jamendo.com (on jamendo look for 'greg baumont', 'pornophonique', and 'saregama' ... all legal and well made)

dunno where my tastes in music really lie... cos they span quite a bit... from (using 'mainstream' examples) jonny cash, to kraftwerk & blue man group (same basic style... but blue man group has got to be seen live to be truly appreciated... if you ever get a chance to do so dont pass it up...), to dirty vegas, yello, and even the 'harsh sounding' linkin park....

lol...

I am a country music fan (much to 99.9% of the forum's dismay, I'm sure).

Country, pop, blues, classical, and 80's-style rock are mostly my favorites. I prefer "soft" music over hard or loud music almost all of the time.
Downloading is an addiction I do not want to give up.

...old thread, but I'm new here.  And music, especially older music, is primarily why I'm here in the first place.

...I'll more or less second what RReactor said a while back.  I'm into what people generally call 'classic rock', with limitations.  My personal definition of 'classic rock' tends to somewhat narrowly define it into the mid-60s to mid-70s time frame, and can venture outside the boundaries of straightforward rock as it existed during those years, and it's pretty much what I stick with...I start to rapidly lose interest after 1975; the disco plague of the late 70s pretty much destroyed everything that had been good in the music world and left behind a vast musical wasteland (otherwise known as the 80s)...and not much after that, either (the 'deregulation' during the  Reagan regime and the subsequent corporatization of everything to do with music have not helped, either  :x )...
...and oh, yes, I realize that musical tastes tend to be largely generational, and I am definitely not part of the current generation...but most of the newer music does absolutely nothing for me...
...and I also have a number of favorite classical works as well...

...I'm also a member of a dedicated 'classic rock' forum (www.crf2.com), under the same user name that I've adopted here...

...I'm sure they did!   ...just as J. S. Bach's own sons are known to have thought that his music was 'old-fashioned'...

...and it is certainly worthy of note that our parents said things like that--and worse!--about the likes of the Beatles...

I like all genres, but definitely love Classical music the best.

Beethoven, Mozart, Bach, Liszt, Vivaldi to name a few, brilliant composers and their music is timeless.
