WinMx will work fine sharing & downloading to an external drive, to download to it you'll have to make a target folder, Winmx doesn't like downloading to the root directory.

Also you'll have to ensure the external drive is there before starting the program, otherwise you'll see an error (obvious reasons lol).

I would recommend anyone to defragment whatever drive winmx downloads to regularly (it makes a mess), this can be a slow process on external drives, depending on the connection interface.
Blessed is he who expecteth nothing, for he shall not be disappointed.

well just to let you know, i changed my mind on the seagate 300gb, it was hard to make a decision, one review one say one thing and another would say the complete opposite, so i went for the maxtor one touch ll ,,, 300gb ,,,,,, reviews were better,,, here,,  http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1112201&CatId=136

I got a Seagate and it works very well for me. The only thing I raccommend is to use a connection USB 2.0, a simple USB connection is kinda slow and can get your PC frozen if you d/l and u/l from the external unit.
