you can resume an opennap download on WPN, and you can resume a WPN download on OpenNap.
the trick is to find a yellow file. right click on your red incomplete download and "search for similar"
if nothing turns up, delete some words from the search query that aren't necessary, leaving the artist and title. and hit search again.
if and when things do turn up, look for a file of the exact same size. the biggest majority of them are already highlighted for you in yellow.
(if you are using the default color scheme set at dark background w/ light text or haven't varied too far from it)
OK...Right click on the yellow file or same size file and select Manually Download.
a window pops up, "File Download" if the file is already displayed below, select "resume from the partially downloaded file" and click ok.
if the file is not displayed below, select "Manually Browse for the file to resume from" and click ok. a browser will open, go to your incomming winmx directory and select the _INCOMPLETE_ file you wish to resume and click ok.
your winmx may hesitate for a few seconds if it is a larger file, and then you are in queue or started, and resuming
when resuming a download on OpenNap, only resume off of 1 user per download at a time. don't try to resume the same file off of more than 1 user at the same time. you kind of have to guess or figure out who you may start with sooner, and choose that user. you won't force it to multisource..
if you have a pending request for the file on WPN after putting in for a resume on OpenNap, Cancel or clear that WPN request,
especially if your OpenNap resume starts. or vice-versa..
once in a while, the unlikely event of resuming with the wrong file can occur. you'll notice previewing that the file is only good up to the point you resumed from. not all of these errored files can be fixed, but most can using the "Corrupt File Trimmer" standalone program which is easily found on a search on WinMX. Trim the file to a place that you're sure is before the point where you attempted to resume it. make sure you search and find the right file, lol if this happened to you, you might want to be sure it's a yellow file you're resuming from. if you still have problems with it after completion, probably want to delete and start over...
it doesn't stop there, folks.. I have actually resumed incomplete downloads from other protocols on Winmx, WPN and OpenNap.
I have successfully completed Soulseek and DirectConnect Downloads Using WinMX and the Manual Download feature
there are still a lot of folks using Old WinMX Version 2.6 on OpenNap, And a similar japanese client, Utatane (which I use there)
and the only way to resume anything at all on those softwares involves manually resuming. Its not too hard folks !
cheers !!
