I am using the PIE patch
WinMX 3.53
Windows XP pro
Connecting as Primary
Incoming TCP 16699
UDP 16257
Limited outgoing bandwidth to 65000 bps
Cable connection

When I attempt to search I get disconnected. Any Ideas?

That is a known issue that 3.53 has, you can fix this by upgrading to 3.54 beta 4 which you can simply replace the winmx.exe file in your C:\Program Files\WinMx\Winmx.exe .

Or you can put a patch that was made for this bug by KM, just drop this into your WinMx folder and restart.

You should also see better resutls on your Channel Lists if you use that fuction as well.

Sorry about the double post.

That was the trick.... been connected for 45 minutes already and the longest before going with 3.54 has been 5 min. Wait just disconnected. I'll try the other patch you gave me.

I downloaded .53 because it was recommended ov .54 beta. Is .54 actually a less buggy version?

With the version 3.54 you will not need the patch.. and yes its a more stable version of mx.

I have installed 3.54 and I'm still getting the same problem. Not sure if this would have anything to do with it but, I've also imported server lists from NapMX and connect to about 15-20 of them.

I also run Peer Guardian.

I'm just guessing really but it could be you're disconnecting as a result of getting flooded with too many fake search results, I suggest looking at the advice here https://www.winmxworld.com/tutorials/filtering_fakes.html & following it if you're not already doing so.

This seems to be making a difference, plus the search results are showing up much faster.
