Hi Faithless, I think you have hit the nail on the head here, although computer savvy users are finding the patches and employing them, the vast majority of the former users have been unable to find the patch or reconnect,
Many users had got connected years ago and as they where unable to get the info for reconnecting some have indeed gone elsewhere.
Its not all bad news on those users though, we are still seeing users return to winmx after trying other networks and hearing that winmx is still operational
I would ask all readers here to please use every method they can to advertise our network, perhaps a small discussion on your favourite forum or just google and join forums that think we are closed and put them right.
We need to get WinMX back over the million member mark and can expect many student users during the summer months if we can get the word out in a sensible fashion.
Each new or returned user is a victory against the global media cartels who wish to deny choice and a fair deal to the consumer as well as stifle any new artists not under their control.
We should all be proud to share copyright free music and open source media put out by those who make music and programs to entertain, rather than line an already bulging corporate wallet.
