There is still alot of confused people about, you could take the harsher route and deney them the file, or perhaps take a more pro-active approach and pm them some hints as to what to do and why. Worth considering, every person that becomes disillusioned with Winmx cause they cant get a DL, will almost certainly give up and move on, but perhaps if they were pointed in the right direction, they could  become valuable contributers to the community.

BTW im not saying there arent any hard ass leeches out there, cause there are, but not everyone with no shares is intentionally a leech. :D

I agree with Nobby on this one, this world is full of all kinds just like the rest of the world.

Its also worth saying here that folks that are on primary and not sharing are still doing a fair bit to support the network, holding secondaries and moving search requests also.

I use an upload manager only because of the recent upload stuff the RIAA was pulling and its set to 1 file, and send alot of pms..

can you elaborate on how the UL manager protects against the RIAA?

Sure can.

Its nothing serious or dangerous at this time, just another way to irritate and try to drive folks away.  But here is the more detailed posts regarding this behavior.

Thanks for the reply.  I notice on the news reports of the RIAA geting IP addresses and sueing. This was mostly Kazaa and Grokster users. Is there some protection in WinMX to protect against this? Or should I be nervous?
