I have placed this here for the furtherance of aquiring legal to share content.

http://www.slyck.com/news.php?story=1140

Quote
Billboard No.1 R&B artist Ne-Yo is to be the first featured artist in a new music show called Stageside, which is now freely available to file sharers.
Despite promising a line up of big name artists, the show is completely free and contains no DRM restrictions.

It is all part of a new marketing campaign by Coca-Cola to reach out to millions of young males, who are notoriously difficult to target with traditional media.

Live music and interviews with a select few musicians is a long way off a complete catalogue of albums, but Reichgut believes the show will help transform how the RIAA member labels, such as Def Jam who signed Ne-Yo, make digital content available. He sees a future in advertisers compensating artists, rather than the consumer.

I for one have no problems with this plan, its a well known fact filesharers purchase more than those who are not allowed to sample music before purchase.
Oh nearly forgot , here it is

This kind of thing has been going on for a while now; "Love in teh Bordon pavillion, it's System ofa Down! Sponsored by Pepsi! They gave us the cool patato-shaped bass that we're breaking the headstock off of tat the end of hte show becasue we're filthy rich bastards who don't appreciate our fans, what it took to get us to this position, people less successful than us, or the fine craftsmenship of the instruments! Because what we do have is lots and lots of *money*!" I start that over? i think I may have edged, jsut slightly, intoeditorializing. Anyway, as I was saying before oyu started me off on that tangeant, as far as I can tell all that's different is that they're offering the live tracks for free, which a lot of bands do either officially or unofficially (by allowing bootlegs to be traded on etree or making soundboard recordings available or what have you). But corporate sponsorship of tours has been going on for a while now.

Indeed Lysander, in fact if you look through my older posts I,m sure you,ll find some more links like this one.
Items that are being handed out for free will always get a mention here as its my policy to encourage folks to share all kinds of media, there own as well as items aquired as above, diversity keeps the network healthy  :D
