Hello fellow mx'ers; This file error has come up on a couple of shared files I have while a user is trying to get from me......
file error (10) a hardware i/o error was reported while accessing an unnamed file
I have tried the trim file option and trunk to no avail
These files were originally stored on a a 1 tb external and then moved to a 2 tb internal. So I thought I will move back to external to see if that helps....... then it says unable to move "data error cyclic redundancy check" so all things considered it would appear the file is unsalvageable? Or would re-rippin it be another potential chance to fix?
Keep up the good work mates

This is a typical error on in this case the 2 Tb disk, and it points to a corrupt master file table, also known as $MFT. Diskeeper and Disktest are two of maybe more programs that can help to solve this problem. When you take care no data is lost.

File Error>4.File MisMatch Type Error.when Ever a Download File Is Stopped. It Can make The End Of File Become Corrupt.
(use the Trim 10K command to make file shorter so you can download the end of the file)

Ok i got that  but how or where do i trim it again the memory is fading fast lol

- In WinMX right click the file and find the option in the dropdown menu
- Use Trunk.exe which allows you to trim more than 10K and so it makes chances on success higher

But the absolute best way is to delete the file and start over IMHO ;)
