Setting MOTD help

can some one please tell me in simple terms, how to post the MOTD, with more than 1 line, and in colour.  I have tried everything but the correct way.  I would also like to post how to use the colours in the room. All instructions to be viewed on entry. :?

/setmotd #c1#HELLO#NEWLINE##c2#PERSON

just use the colour codes in the MOTD for colour, and #NEWLINE# for a new line :-D

Thankyou for your help, I have finally a MOTD set in the WCS room.  Now that I know it is to be typed on the board it is easy.  Still having a few problems but in time I'm sure we will get them right.  Once again thankyou for your time, very much appriciated. :D
