CONNECTION PROBLEMS

I am having a very hard time with WinMX...I was able to log in and begin searching and downloading then all of a sudden it just stop! I don't know what to do, can someone direct me to what I need to do?

do you have the correct patch installed from www.winmxgroup.com  do you have y our winmx settings/firewall/router ports set up correctly?

You don't provide us much info about what caused the problem, what patch for WinMX are you using? Have you installed any firewalls lately or altered your internet connection setup in any way? Are you running a primary or a secondary connection?

I DON'T KNOW MUCH ABOUT FIREWALLS AND SUCH BUT I DO HAVE A THING THATS NEW AND CAME WITH MY NEW PRINTER CALLED "OMNIQUEST SECURITY" AND NOW THAT YOU MENTION IT ...IT'S PROBABLY THE PROBLEM BUT I TRIED TO UN-INSTALL IT AND CAN'T! THANKS FOR RESPONDING PLEASE GIVE FEEDBAck if you can!

Valor, I HAVE v3.53 AND UNTIL TWO DAYS AGO I WAS DOING FINE. I DON'T KNOW MUCH ABOUT SETTINGS AND SUCH BUT WHEN I FIRST INSTALLED WINMX...IT WAS FINE THEN I HOOKED UP A NEW PRINTER AND IT CAME W/SOME SOFTWARE AND I THING THAT MAY BE THE PROBLEM BUT I NEED TO BE CONNECTED TO! I'M GOING CRAZY WITHOUT WINMX:)!

See if you can find a configuration for this security program (such as on the start menu, or in the tray), it should let you allow WinMX through the firewall. If you can't figure it out, I have another solution:

Open your WinMX settings, go to "Incoming TCP Connections", and select the lower option "Unable to accept incoming TCP connections"
Then do the same for "In/Out UDP Packets", set it to "Unable to send or receive UDP datagrams on any port"

These settings should work with most network configurations, but you should know that you can't download from other users with the same settings, so you may not get as good download speeds as before, but it's still better than nothing.
