Hey can anyone help winmx shows that im connected but i get no search results and cannot upload or download and also cant get any chat rooms its driving me crazy can anyone help ???

do you have a firewall or router? if so have you configured it correctly? as that sounds like you are on primary with incorrectly configured UDP ports (and that often also means incorrectly configured TCP as well)

try looking here for setting up winmx with a G604T, McAffee antivirus software shouldn't need any setting up as it shouldn't be a firewall.

KM, I tried to follow the instructios but.... the port forwarding screen is quite different and it seems it does not allow me to create the new rule... I obtain this router from iinet, is it possible they have done something to it? Maybe I need to upgrade the firmware?

here is a manual for your modem from iinet, you shouldbe able to work out how to forward ports with it

Hello again im using sygate firewall pro avg 7 antivirus and a belkin wireless router but still gettin no joy with serch results uploads and downloads

Belkin have a very good animated demo of how to set port forwarding on their website, if www.portforward.com is confusing, sygate shouldn't cause you too much greif, as long as winmx is allowed, & avg shouldn't interfere at all, I suspect it's a forwarding issue, very occasionally my Belkin wireless router requires me to cycle it's power, because it seems to lose the ability to farward correctly by the rules set in it.. usually after my notebook being disconnected for an extended period, or after system configuration changes..
