WinAvi 7 will convert them.   I usually use it to convert from .avi to DVD format to burn and play on DVD player, but it has a whole lot of conversions it can do.

Thers a few diff converters out there

but i found theirs are the most user friendly there are easy to set up ie: can pick a output folder < folder to which you saving to > which makes it easier for you to locate the file once its been converted

 MainConcept. =
will do multi  formats  from Avi to mpeg by loading the file up
and once it loads up you will see wots the file is in <vcd ,svcd,meg1,meg2 dvd,>
but if you change to dvd it will make a dvd image not vobs ect...

VSO ConvertXtoDVD =

this is multi format but instead off make a image file off the file it will make vobs  <which is the right format for dvd "Video Object Data"    >

Once you have converted the file you can the use nero7 to burn the vob folder with nero recode<load ,next all the way untill burn > or use a diff: burner  the VsoXvidToDvd  has a burner built into it so you can also use that to burn the vob folder.
