Patch for Metis

I tried to install the patch for metis so I can connect to the wpn however i get an error saying "error opening file for writing" then it gives me the option to abort, retry, or ignore.  Even if I ignore it installs it but when you hit finish it opens up robomx and metis still cant connect.  How do I fix?

close it before running the patcher (the patcher can't patch if the file is in use, sometimes people get confused & think it has closed when it only minimised to system tray), make sure the robomx.exe isn't set as read only  (right click > properties) & if that doesn't work run the patcher with the pc in safe mode
or
install the latest robomx instead of the bundled version, as that doesn't require patching

however for some reason it doesn't include any caches in the default configuration, so even though it doesn't require patching you do need to add caches to it
