List of ISP's who block winmx

Why don't we make a list of ISP's that block winmx? That way, we all could know is it is our ISP that is the trouble directly. Instead of posting waiting and then someone answer. That would save a lot of time.

partly because some only block in some areas, then we'd get 204 posts "I use <insert isp> & my winmx is fine so you're wrong"

Then mabye we could add the areas as well, or would that be too confusing and large. We could create a seperate link like there is for tutorials. That way my idea. Not entries on a topic like this, (I mean the list)

I completely agree that this could be undertaken but would be a large job i fear.

I can off hand mention some of the most obvious ISPs that are filtering or throttling WinMX, that doesn't mean its all of them, and my knowledge is based more on the people I have helped then any research.  So then you know its Rogers that is throttling WinMx, but finding an area is almost impossible for me to conceive..

It would mean alot of research of ISP boards, finding areas and being able to place them geologically, some learning about the types of software used to do this job and compiling the information in a usable manor..

So that said, do I think this would be useful, helpful and worth while.. yes.
Do i have time.. erm.. no.

So on that note:  I dub thee 'Sir Samseesam' official Knight of the WinMX World ISP Filtering/throttling research team.  If you so choose to undertake this Knighthood you can expect to have my full cooperation in finishing this project..

sorry to post so late but i do not think that it is fair that ISP's are blocking what we do i pay money for my internet at least i should have the freedom to do what i want.

personally the first time AOL start blcoking what i can do ill leave them and when they ask why and they always do i will plainly say i pay X amout of money to have internet acess and i do not want to be limited. But thats my oppinion

AOL do block users from doing certain things, just it doesn't affect most legitimate use of the internet... currently as far as i know p2p sharing apps are unaffected, but who knows what the future holds?

i have verizon internet so so far no problems i have always done p2p on it so sugest verizon good speed good service           (except when u talk to one of the people on the phone that u cant understand thats the only issue  :shock:)
