Primary connection

I downloaded the pie patch and got back on winmx again but I cannot make a primary connection. I am on dsl with 1.5m/512k dl/ul speeds. Is there something I am missing? Before winmx went down I was operating as a primary so I know how to set up my firewall and router. I am using 3.54b

firstly if you are running primary then you should not do so unprotected, the best way to protect your winmx is with the winmxgroup patch (https://www.winmxgroup.com/)

secondly, what is the problem with going on primary? if it is winmx saying the ports are not configured correctly then go in to settings and set it to listen on the TCP/UDP port that you have configured in your router. then of course once it's done check that the port forwarding is set up correctly, if it is then 1. searches should work (inbound UDP), and 2. uploads should work (inbound TCP if you have MX set to use inbound TCP), if either of those is not the case then it could indicate not being set up correctly

I used the mentioned patch and was able to go primary again. Also used some handy info from the port forward page. Thanks for the help.
