Bad connection speeds
« on: June 08, 2006, 12:26:10 pm »
I have noticed that my downloads are getting progressively slower. Generally they used to be about 25 kbps but now for the past few days, they become slow, barely going past 13, Does harddisk strorage affect this?

In the C drive (in which windows is installed) the free space is about 70 %

In the D drive (in which all shared files are there) the free space is about 39 %

Uploads are not fast either. Generally, they used to be about 27 kbps but now, they are about 16 kbps only

:(

Please help

Cheers

I'd check for viruses/adware/spyware & any processes using bandwidth or presenting a heavy CPU load (are you doing anything different, installed new software?) at those levels of free space I'd expect winmx to be very happy, conceivably an issue might occur if space became VERY low, especially on the system drive (though windows tends to bitch about that anyway).
Blessed is he who expecteth nothing, for he shall not be disappointed.

hmm you seem to be right. I saw 4 processes from the same directory. Just wanted to confirm....

one in C:\WINDOWS\ime\imejp98

and three in

C:\WINDOWS\system32\IMEPINTLGNT (1)
C:\WINDOWS\system32\IMETINTLGNT (2)

Could you confirm that these folders are harmless... I never saw these processes before. They don't seem to show up on taskmanager, but are on msconfig startup programs
