I have not been able to connect to the networks, winmx or opennap, for the past 2-3 days. The yellow searching light blinks and never turns green. It was working fine on Saturday. My ISP is Cox, been using a secondary connection. Any thoughts?

Do the following things:

Go to www.winmxgroup.com and download the latest patch

Then:
Close winmx
Install the patch
Start winmx again

All should be well then

Do tell what happened

Hmmm, it did not work- still only a yellow blinking light. Is it safe to contact my ISP to see if they have started blocking it?

Did you make sure to close winmx before installing the patch?
Otherwise it won't work.
Do you have a file called OLEDLG.DLL in your winmx folder?
If not the patch hasn't been installed correctly.
I wouldn't call your isp just yet, it's more likely that something went wrong when installing - let us know...

open up winmx and manually join the chat room WinMxWorld.com Help_E3D7EFD50D3D and see if someone can help you in there, there are a few things that can be checked to see where the problem is

Your ISP won't tell you if they are blocking it.

Then if you are unhappy, you will leave them, that's a loss of a custemor, they don't want that, so that will not happen..

Anyway, in most ISP cases if think, winmx does connect but is not able to download anything... so if you winmx does have a connection, but the downloads never start, then it could be your ISP (provided the files aren't fake)

Cox, I understand, traffic shape in some areas, but you should be able to have transfers start (go green) & your winmx connect (green light), even with the worst ISP's who play such dirty tricks selling people connections & not delivering what you paid for..

I suggest following KM's advice, type (or paste):
WinMxWorld.com Help_E3D7EFD50D3D
in the filter bar on the chatroom listing screen & hit the join button, this will work regardless of the connection status. Just ignore not being connected for this puropse.

Fixed. Re-installed the program, and all is well.

possibly yes,

What av did you add? Does it ask you about winmx when you start it?
