WCS Freezing !!

hey, can anyone help........My WCS is playing up !! it just keeps freezing.....stay's open for a few hours, when i come back to it.....Nothing !!

any errors listed? and what exactly is there when you get back? ie. error messages/program not responding/looks normal/nothing there/etc

When i come back there is no error messages....it just freezes and room is no longer there on winmx, have to shut server down and re open !

do you have any firewalls running? and if so have you tried disabling them?

if you have XP then also disable the XP one as its starting to look like that one may be causing problems with several programs - although not quite as badly as zonealarm does, i dont know of any other firewalls other than those 2 that cause problems with p2p software, but its still worth trying if you have a different firewall just in case

SUCCESS !!   Thnax KM, and for the record.....i was running McAfee firewall, disabled it and all is fine now !! Looks like WCS and McAfee dont work together !!

well first time here, my wcs will crash my pc,within two minutes,no error,no anything,just start WCS, then blam ! im down and restarting ?   any ideas, i love the WCS,hate to give up on it ?

What are you running for an OS, any firewalls, etc.

Explain the situation a little better so that we can all help you!

Does it just reboot by itself? I had that problem when I ran WinMX on primary with a defective network card in my PC, the PC gave me a blue screen with an error message, then rebooted itself after few seconds. I doubt that's your problem, but it could be

OK heres the deal,

open up wcs advanced/ add server/throw bot in(metis 2.06 or w/e) everything good.
Try to enter room via loopback (router) with winmx or robomx wcs freezes.
I have changed ports and channelnames and autojoins an and and and still nothing.

wcs fine until I try to enter with one of above.

In config I tried multi=6 and lower to 3, nothing

Known portblocking/capping/throttling isp detected (Comcast) Try ports: TCP 60060 and UDP 60069


tried that it works now using 60060

no freeze after an hour with everything in the room  hmm

comcast trying to limit our rights to the internet??

or are they trying to control us??

They're simply selling more bandwidth than they have & then stopping people using what they've paid for, it's unjust & something needs doing to stop ISP's like this getting away with it.
