Need Help With Connection Type
« on: July 06, 2006, 04:08:27 am »
I had a 56K modem but just got wireless.  I connect at 10 Mbps.  Can someone tell me what to check for the connection?  It's not cable or dsl I'm sure (no I'm no sure) but I'm also not sure about the ISDN.  Can someone lend me a clue?  Thanks.

ISDN is 64 kbps. But you are T3+ Wireless will not make any difference. Tpye is basicially the speed at which you can download. You can set your queues as you want. Set it to about 25  to 50. But that is fully your desicion. That will give you great speeds of uploading. To find out your optium speed go to https://www.winmxworld.com/scripts/bandwidth/

Read the page and you willl find out what i mean.
Do telll what happened
Cheers :)

it doesn't really matter if you select DSL or Cable, but it's not ISDN and it's nowhere near T3 :-)

Technicially he would be able to download at about 1100kbps, So isn't that T3? If so what is....
Actually I checked this when I use bittorrent and that does give T3 when you pull the bar over 1 mbps

T3 (as like DSL or Cable) is a connection type, not a speed... T3 lines are a specific type of dedicated line, they are a digital phone line, although T3 is very specific and does have a fixed speed of 45Mbit, it is T3 because it is a T3 line not by being 45Mbit

Thanks for your input.  I called my ISP today and asked their opinion.  They said their DSL lines were all the same connection type/speed as my wireless so I could identify my connection as dsl.  Thanks again for the help.
