If you were using win 98/ME it would be purely because those operating systems like running out of memory, & there's nothing special about WinMX causing it other than it being the one that did, in that case you'd fix it by running less stuff concurrently with it, or upgrading to an OS with better memory management, if you're on XP or 2000 you need someone who knows more than me.

it's nothing to do with the OS....

however if you have a computer with little memory (generally speaking an older one) then it could have simply run out, first suggestion is if you're running winmx in primary try secondary instead

It may be virtual memory then but windows will tell you about that. Anyway, see the picture and follow the arrows. The system icon is in the control panel. Your virtual memory is ideally about 1.5 times your ram. Windows by default assigns itself a reasonably large memory, but try increasing by 100 mb or so and try. If no change, then you might want to set it to the original values so that some space is saved.

Cheers :)
Reconnect to winmx with the blocking patch :)

Well it occurrs to me that MxM & Leech may be having some sort of bullfight over memory, I've not known anyone try to run both at once before as you essentally duplicate functions, try running with just one or the other & see how it goes.

does it come up straight away, or after a while?

mxmonitor/leechammer on windows XP can cause a little leak with the whois windows (an MFC bug on XP not a winmx bug) however that normally results in the GUI getting messed up and things not displaying correctly rather than a message box
