upside down movies
« on: June 20, 2006, 07:25:22 pm »
I downloaded a couple of movies that when I tried to view them before putting them in shares I found they were upside down. The sound is ok. Any way to correct this?

Many thanks,

Do you have all the correct codecs installed? Also, sometimes I've found playing them in a different player helps.

Thank you. I did change the viewer from windows media player to vcl player and it runs. THe only trouble I have now is the picture breaks up into green and other colour distortions for about 5 min of the film. I have downloaded  it from four different sources and its always the same. Any thoughts?

Thank again

Did that happen when you used windows media player as well?
Sometimes, the file you download is corrupt so that does not help much when you download it again :(
Reconnect to winmx with the blocking patch :)

Spread the word now :)

It happens no matter what viewer I use. When my dl is finished I notice that it is always has less bytes that the source indicated. Not a lot but some. I wonder if everyone just downloaded the same copy and it spread that way. I am trying a different source now that offers a less compressed file. I will let you know the result.
thanks again

do you mean for example showing as 7,783,575 bytes in winmx then 7.42MB when you look at the file size? if so that isn't the file being smaller, just winmx uses bytes to display it, and most other programs will use Kilobytes or Megabytes, and there aren't exactly 1000 bytes in a kb :-)

It would come out somewhat less than the posted file. Instead of say 750,000,000 it might have been 749,100,000 or such even though it indicated as being complete.. I finally found a version of the file that had only half the compression and it seems to work fine:) Thanks for the assistance:)
