that depends on how you define working

some people have reported it working without problems, others report it works except on secondary the connection resets every 30 seconds, and 1 report of the secondary issue with also an inability to stay in chat rooms... yet some find it works flawlessly without any problems

Hi All,
just a quick update, a friend and host Tiger has Vista, he said his WinMX does not fall or reset connection and FXS1.3.10 works with no problems, also i asked him to test WCS1.8b8 and he said that works with no obvious problems, it stays stable and he stayed in room along with the Zenabot B1 that seems to work well in FXS & WCS on Vista,
this is some good news,

bendmx won't work, neither will RCMS, this is due to the fact that vista has IE7... it's the same thing that was with the previous patch versions using winsock shims

the only way to resolve the issue with either of those is with a rewrite... (of course much of the working code could be copy/pasted, but it would be on top of a different base)

I'm actually running WinMX w/ MXMonitor & WCS on Vista with very few problems -- been doing so since Beta 2. =) WinMX sometimes crashes but it isn't too frequent. Funny thing though, when it does crash and you send the crash data to MS is comes back and tells you that there are known compatability issues with WinMX on Vista and you should go to vladd44.com for the patch!

It also claims that Vladd is the owner of the software,  so I think someone has been making fraudulant claims somewhere and its not something anyone here is likly to have claimed.

More lies from those trying to profit from winmx users again.

Please post the link here so I can pass it to the p2p news sites, they like a good laugh.

Thus far it seems many users have been able to use mx on Vista but there are some incompatibilites that need ironing out in individual systems, some claiming that all fine and others that its broken, lets hear from those who have it working and a breif outline of their machine specs and primary software, that would be helpful in locating any rogue or conflicting apps.

[Update]
This is the offending link.

http://wer.microsoft.com/responses/Response.aspx/207/en-gb/0.0.0000.0.00000000.0.0?SGD=e1868718-d4b8-45f5-bb10-dd5d53f31265

Im sure you all know that the guy who actually wrote the winmx software is called Kevin Hearn and he is president of the company he runs called "winmx technologies" in canada ( previously called "frontcode technology"), some people it seems are desperate to steal others credit and reading the errror above makes me feel contempt for those claiming as their own the work of others.

Folks can we help each other now and post WinMX with Vista problems here.

https://forum.winmxworld.com/index.php/board,45.0.html

If you could follow the guidlines in how you post rather than just saying you "have a problem" we can help deliver a solution earlier.

Thanks folks  8)

the question is how did maggot boy vladd manage to claim to micrsoft that he was the owner of winmx..............
one what vladd has done is illegal........
two shows how stupid microsoft are that they didnt even bother to verify that maggot boy is the actuall owner.........
perhaps we should advise kevin that his software has been frauduatly stolen by vladd and claimed as his own..............
maggot boy and the rest of the cast of bottom feeders deserve to end up in court for theft, wonder how quick maggot boy will be to deny that he isnt the owner..........or even better still advise macrovision that vladd is the owner of p2p software that is deleberatly stealing copywrite soft..................
i see no reason given the tactics now being employed by pie why open warfare shouldnt be under taken by those who actually are running winmx and not those who consistantly are trying to profit from something that is free...........
first shot in this war has been the removal of the block list for public access................
second will be the deliberate blocking of those who are not dll patched...........why should km constantly have to prop up a failing cache and those that use it.............
pie maggots can use every low down trick they like in the end they will still be gone from this network..............
if pie had any respect for the community they would leave as the community have rejected pie .....and in that there is no argument, pie is a failure...........just like the rubbish april and co are trying to put together for the sole purpose of making a dollar, and not for the benefit of winmx users..............winmx and any client that connects to it are free and any attempt to introduce a client that users have to pay for will be rejected no matter wat bells and whistles it may have...............

This site doesnt charge for something that is was free in the first place. That address is a scam site!!!!!!!!!!!

Thier if you click the link to supply information is wrong. just put that in, im sure they will soon change it. Everyone who can please go post thier and get it put right!!!!
