Hi folks for those who have already heard of this chat/file-share client this is the place we will be posting any new updates on the forum and also this announces a new release.

WinZO 1.04 released

The main addition is the chat client.
Also features experimental AVI files checking, an ability to check AVI videos while downloading and redownload detected broken parts.
Some minor bugs were fixed.
Starting with this release WinZO is distributed with sources under GPL licence.

First public release, WinZO 1.0

WinZO is an alternative client for WinMX network.
It was developed for my own use, and lacks some features present in the original client.
Written in C# with LINQ, requires .NET Framework 2.0 to operate.
Currently features secondary connection to WinMX network, searching, file uploads/downloads and private messages.
Doesn't require hosts file modification.

Well folks you got to hand it to Amon this is great work and we hope he continues to work towards new features and expanding into the primary side of things perhaps.

I hate the chat part. The font = Bad = White background = EEEEEKKK and then like the chat doesnt' scroll with itself

Yep, its the little things that annoy me too, 2 mins of chat with a non scrolling screen was enough to close it, but i must still commend Amon on his early efforts, i hope he can find the time to develop them, people with the talent and know how to in the longer term improve Winmx should be encouraged.

That was of course on of the aims of this site and the reason for an archive of programmers work along with all the sources that could be gathered, in one place.

Those just starting with out winmx projects may find much to learn and stimulate them in the archives and I know there are many useful items that folks pass by all the time never knowing there true worth.
