Website - FAO KM.
« on: October 10, 2006, 09:16:33 pm »
Hi KM.

I am in the process of making a small website.  Part of my website will cover Winmx.
I would like to have links to some of the files you have in your archive.  Because I can not
upload files bigger than 1mb I cant just upload themn myself. These would
include a few chat clients, chat servers and winmx itself. Just a link to the actual files
to download.  and then under the links I would make refrence to the origins of the files
including a clickable url to your site. ie :-  ( Available from httpss://archive.winmxunlimited.net ).
Please let me know if you would rather I didnt do this.

Also if you have any ideas of where I might host these files myself for free or somethin Id love
to know.  Many thanks.  R.  :D

Hi Tanny, I have been prodded to answer this one as the site and archive are actually run by myself and Me_here, KM is our host/tech guy (and arbitrator ).

So lets move along to your requests, its always been our policy of allowing open linking to sites like ourselves that do not advertise, I know this may sound a little harsh but its not fair for us to act as a file library for pay sites, so if your site is ad free feel free to link to whatever you want.

You can of course download anything you need and host it yourself if your site features ads but you still want the files, we encourage sharing of all winmx programs to maintain continuity of supply to all, and as you may have noticed one or two sites are sometimes dead or offline over time and having more sites host the files is a defence against losing any.

If you are going to link to less than ten files say I,m sure it wont be a problem with direct linking even if you have a few ads, but as explained above we dont wish to eat our bandwidth on making a profit for others, I hope this is fair and reasonable.

BTW  lets see a link for your site so we can perhaps add you to the links page we have of other friendly sites.

Ghostship

Thank you for your reply.

The website Im have started making will have no adverts, and the 10 links you suggested would be plenty, a few clients and servers is what i was hoping for.  I understand your point about the more hosts for files the better, so I will look into finding ways of hosting these files myself.  Certainly when I get my website up and running Id love to give you a link to it to add to your friends, I cant give you a link just now because the website is in its early stages being made on computer and I havent got an address yet, Its gonna be based on a template similar to my old website and hosted on the same free webhost server, my old webby is www.bollockohbuff.co.nr - I just made it as a bit of fun to see how much of it I could do myself and was my first atempt at a website lol.  Like I say once i get my new one up and running Ill post you a link to it.

Thanks again.
R.
