System froze...there must be a temp file *somewhere*!
« on: September 11, 2005, 03:22:01 pm »
My system froze when a movie was at about 95% done...some 450 megs.  When I rebooted, now it shows the tiny partial I had, a little over 2 megs.  Where is the temp file WinMX must make?  I want my movie, and trying to download it again will be *insane*...it took 2 weeks to begin with!

I figure I can recover it from the temp file, but I can't find it...anywhere!

Please e-mail me any help at eldon_guyre@yahoo.com, if you would.

Hi Eldon,
Your incomplete downloads are in your Incoming File Folder you have set up, so look at that.  That is the only place WinMX stores the downloaded portions.  Make sure you dont have two in there, one 2mg and one lots of mg file.  If the only  file in the folder is the 2megs one then this means that the system crash caused WinMX to loose the file

I have sent you an email also.

If that file is gone redownloading is your only option.

also just to add to that, clicking load incomplete from the transfers screen should reload any incomplete downloads from your incomming folder so winmx can resume the download :-)
