I just wanna know Is there a way to convert swf and exe video files to avi or mpeg ?

swf files are flash files, and exe files are programs - neither is a video file, they may display an animation which may well be a video but they are not videos, so can't be used as video files for converting in to video files

you may be able to use a screen capture program to record anything they display on the screen, but a better option is to avoid them - swf files containing videos in websites is one thing, but there is never a reason for a video to be embedded in an exe file, you have to ask why they want to run a program on your computer just to view a video instead of giving you the video itself...

of course some programs used to embed them may allow extracting but that would be dependent on what they used to put the video in to the flash file/executable in the first place - although if it's stored in mpeg format you *may* be able to rename it to /mpg and simply play ti in any video player (the mpeg format is very flexible in that way)

Well I have seen Music Videos in swf what do you call that ?

that's a flash file, not a video - sometimes they use flash files for animation in web pages, which may well be a video (most video hosting sites embed videos in flash files for better viewing in any browser) - it may be possible to extract the video from it, or it may not, just depends how lucky you are

i usually use special converters to get video files from flash, tried a lot of them, and know i have Flash to Video Encoder PRO by geovid.com. it supports a lot of different formats, it depends on the codecs installed on your computer. i think it's the easiest and the most convenient way to make such type of convertion-using this tool.

Is it free or do you have to buy it ? That program you use ? I would like to find a free program . But I can not seem to find any free programs . All of the programs I found you have to pay and buy them . I do not wanna have to pay or buy anything . But I will have to . But I do not have any credit cards or anything . And also they cost to much .

this one that i told about costs 99.95, but before i purchased it i had been using a free trial version, it's full-featured,but has a watermark logo...unfortunately, i don't know any such freeware too. btw, i looked at this site and found one more converter-Flash to Video Encoder,not a PRO version,(but less quantity of formats supported), that costs 49.95, but you said that you don't want to buy any... but if you change your mind, i know, that there're a lot of different ways to buy it, look at their site for more info.

Do you know if you can buy a video converter at stores anywhere ? If so what stores could I buy a video converter at ? And would they have them at Best Buy or anything I'm not sure ?
