Losing/Reconnecting-But no downloading.
« on: November 13, 2006, 09:35:36 pm »
Hi I recently updated to 3.54 now I connect and reconnect quickly, but I lose most of my download Q positions, and my downloads almost always time out after less than 60 sec, I've reinstalled my firewall, it seems happy, and forwarded the ports, but nothing helps. I useually use a Secondary connection as my bandwdth is 32k down and 16 up, could I use a primary, and if so what settings should i use?

P.S. What difference does the different peer caches make?

i'd suggest going to the chat room WinMxWorld.com Help_3F1FAF500666 and do some tests with someone for the uploads/downloads

and the peer caches are just servers that store a list of known primary users, so you ask them and they give a list of users to connect to - the only real difference a cache makes is how quickly you can connect, if it returns a list of decent primaries then you can connect to the first one you try, nice and quickly connected, whereas if a cache returns a list of bad primaries then you might have to make several attempts before you can connect (causing delays)
