That sounds indeed  as if it was the case Seabee, the correct dll is the oledlg.dll, if you ran RCMS or BendMx then its possible you installed that in the folder then.

Glad to see you used a logical way of tracing the problem  8)

Merry Xmas  :P

Seabee the ws2_32.dll is a system file.. you are supposed to have one in the Windows folder but NOT in the \etc folder.  The etc folder is the home of your hosts files when you used pie patch.  The WinMX Group patch does not use files in system folders and the OLEDLG.dll file should be in your C:\Program Files\WinMX folder only.

Just to clarify.  The Ws2_32.dll is the old 2.x version patch and is not ONLY avalable for third part things such as bots, (still broken) room servers, and shareguard...

Stop messing with your system folders hun before something gets messed up.  No .dll files belong there.

If you still have questions or are worried, or dont have the OLEDLG.dll file in your C:\Program Files\WinMx folder then reinstall the patch from here:
https://www.winmxgroup.com/

Hope this helps you some...

check your firewall settings, if any of the changes also upgraded your WinMX version, remove & re add it to your firewall, check norton worm protection if you have that & double check your port forwarding rules are correct (TCP 6699 & UDP 6257 & sending to your computer's local ip) it's very easy to miss something, leaving both rules at TCP (which most routers default to) or accidentally entering your gateway ip instead of your computer's local ip are both common & easily made errors
Blessed is he who expecteth nothing, for he shall not be disappointed.
