Network still remembers my old username after I changed it?
« on: December 13, 2006, 04:06:09 am »
Some open-nap networks didn't like my old user name, so I changed it.  But I see that those networks that didn't like my old name somehow still sees the bad name, and they still reject me.  And yes, I changed the user name in the "Open Nap networks" settings tab, as well as the winmx peer network screen.  Is there an ini or dat file or something in the registry I need to locate and change?  I'm running win2000 version 5.0  service pack 4, Winmx v 3.54 beta 4, no bots, and I'm behind a firewall that I can't get to.  Secondary user, connection via wi-fi to cable.

Did you click "reset all opennap params to default"?
If not, the do so again. Keep you name free from symbols preferably.

Cheers :P

If you happen to have a static IP they may also have you listed and banned by that.. Try what Sam suggests and if this doesnt work for those servers then your IP is more then likely whats banned.

Going to the administrators on their website is best if it is.

remove the opennap servers from winmx and re-add them, the username is saved per server when the server is added (if you go to edit one you'll see it has your old username by it)

Yes, but when you click "reset all opennap server params to default" (under settings>Opennap Netowrks), then it automaticially changes to the ones specified in that window
