can't load up or down

I was on dial up for winmx and I have just reconnected as a 512/128 broadband user and now I can't let people upload - connection keeps timing out - and I can't download or search. Any suggestions please.    I am going through a D-Link router and my computer and my partner's are networked, mine is main.    Help please I am so frusterated !!!!!!!!

you will need to port forward the ports winmx uses in the router, the router is what is blocking everything................
normally this is a pretty straight forward thing to do but can be a little tricky sometimes .................
if you would come to the winmxworld help room we can walk you thru how to do all this..................

http://www.portforward.com/   That will run you through port forwarding for your D Link.   My wife and I run 512/128 thru D Link DSL-504T (4 port).   We use ports of 6699 and 6257 on mine and 16699 and 16257 on wifes.    No probs with those ports being blocked that we have found on our Aussie ISP.   Check XP firewall as well.

As bug said try the room, and welvome to the site from a fellow Aussie.   They are nice people in here.
