Peer Network Problem
« on: March 04, 2007, 06:17:16 pm »
This has never happened to me before, I was out all day so haven´t been able to watch WinMX activity. Just came in to discover that my Open Nap connections are all fine but the Peer network is goosed. I´d restart again, but this file i´ve been waiting days for is coming in and it´s from a user that sent me a real nasty message because I accidentally queued it twice on OpenNap, so I want to take the file wile it´s coming. Is there any way I can make an adjustment without having to restart? THanks! WinMX is a forever learning experience, isn´t it?

I  just used the port tester from another post and it said my incoming port was closed. How does that happen? My other port is open and working. Hmm, mystifying!

It could be that the IP of a router has change?  The XP firewall has enabled itself.. point being it can happen..

Yes its always a learning experience.. lol.

A restart is prolly the best thing, I have seen some updates from Microsoft do both,, turn on the XP firewall and also kill the WinMXGroup patch.  When you can restart let me know what happens and if its still not ok then.. reinstall maybe.

I just changed my port settings and restarted MX. The port tester said both my ports were fine and it seems that peer network searches were coming up.  That was a strange one. Thanks for your help. Now I know what to do if it happens again.
