I have just noticed that the very useful port scanner recommended elsewhere on this site
 http://winmx.dnsalias.com:801/scan.py
has not been available for more than 24 hrs now. Anyone know what's happened?

also - i have hardly been able to connect my winmx all day - it gets on for a while then just disconnects. Normally it stays on continuously with no problem. Is this happening elsewhere or is it just me? Uk here.

I have been able to access this webpage with ease on my older computer with the XP O/S.  While The XP machine has the page open, I tried to access it with my Vista O/S machine which gave me en error message of "403/forbidden" with further Microsoft information blaming the connection, the server, the webpage, the LAN administrator, etc.  Sounds like a cover-up for free  :walk: :walk:P2P destruction.  Port checks are evidently disallowed in this wave of the future.  Incidentally, WINmx still only runs on my XP - I've tried all the Vista-related improvements/repairs listed but none of them have helped, yet.

Dell Dimension DIM c521
Verizon FIOS

Paul,

Make sure your not running Peerguradian or PGLite on that machine.  They have likely added this WinMX port scan page as a 'anti p2p' or some stupid crap.  And it would also explain your frequent disconnections and instablity.

at the time of the post maxe (who hosts that page, as well as a peer cache) was offline, which is why the page couldn't be reached
