I have no idea how to use a zip file. I have never done this before. I am not so great at computers, all I know is I love WinMX and now it isnt working. This PowerArchiver thing comes up when I click the thing to download the file, then I have no idea what to do. Can someone please help me so I can get back to using my beloved WinMX? I feel so lonely without it.

Umm, I was looking through the forum and found this

I have put together a program to patch your host file with a click of a button. You simply open it click the button that has your os and it and boom! All fixed! You still will probably have to restart winmx to get it to connect! IF you have any other problems post here!

I clicked on that and now my WinMX is working fine.

hi i tried that prog you did to fix mx and everytime i click on my os (XP)i get an error message that says not able to write to file am i doing something wrong please can you help

Get this Program from here Toymaker it will backup and allow you to unlock a hosts file that has been locked to prevent modification by spyware etc.

Remember to make a backup and relock the file after you have replaced or edited it .

any way somone could either walk me through this patch thing or give me some remote assistance please i am about ready to rip my hair out (what little i have anyhow) i have tried everything and seem to be going round in circles ty toymaker
