Virtual Dub Huge File Size!

After spend 2 hours editing out the commercials  from  an AVI file (718Kb), I saved the project to another AVI file expecting it to be smaller. It was a whopping 51Gb!!!!!! Finding Virtual Dub documentation is a problem. Can anyone give me an idea what I might have done wrong? Also, can I shrink this monster so I don't have to go thru the edit again? Thanks.

you must have selected the screen resolution too high. Check if the bitrate of the sound is the same or higher than the one already there.
(Both of these can be found out by sharing the file on winmx and seeing it in the library)
See if the old bitrates and the new ones match or not, that will usually be a problem
