Successful Winmx - Vista Feedback

New machine, 1st time Vista experience.  Was using XP.    Was and still am using winmx354beta4(1).   Was using PiePatch 3.4.   Was using PG2.   Using 3rd party firewall, (CA Security Center), provided by my ISP.

1st attempts to log onto winmx with patch 3.4 failed, winmx would keep trying to log on.   This was true for both primary and secondary.   I dl'd PiePatch 3.5 and made instant connect on primary, did not try secondary.   Next i attempted to get PG2... but alas, PG2 is not available for Vista at this time.   My CA Security Center was blocking 500 hits about every 15 seconds so i should be ok.

1st attempt to allow a browse and queue and start was successful - gave at 50k
1st attempt to do a browse and queue and download was succesful - got at 35k

my first suggestion (especially as you run primary) would be visit here https://www.winmxworld.com/tutorials/connection.html get the installer for existing installs & run it.. this will not only connect you (primary or secondary) but also includes better blocking for winmx than can be done using pg (which as stated isn't available for vista) ..

running pie 3.5 as a primary will afford no protection whatsoever to the network in this configuration.. i can't force you to switch.. but if you don't (for all our sakes) run as secondary.. otherwise MOST of the secondaries connected through you WILL be flooders & that is detrimental to all of us...
