blocking a user
« on: January 10, 2007, 04:44:55 am »
Is there a way to block a user from downloading?  I looked at the 3rd party software page, and did not see anything that addressed this.  There is one particular user that posts files I want, but whenever I try to d/l them, the d/l fails immediately.  I have *never* been able to d/l *anything* from this user. He (or she), however, d/l's from me regularly.  It's just not right that he can prevent me from getting any of his files, but mine are ripe for the pickin'.  I post to share, but it's truly a one-way street with this user.  I would un-block him once he starts sharing like the rest of us.  I saw a lot of monitoring and "ignore" threads, but could not find one on blocking.

Ignore is equivalent to blocking....
If you ignoe a person, you prevent him from downloading, browsing, messaging you
Mx moiter is a great tool that can block leeches automaticially.

Cheers :P

Highnumbers if you use MxMon you can add this person to the auti ignore list until they decide to share with everyone else I have a coupleof people like that in my autoignore list I take them out from time to time and message them but usually just get back a lot of abuse so autoignore them again.

I would love to see a tool that addresses this issue. mxmon is not the way! it works but then you have to conform to the rest of the tool.  we (highnumbers) is looking for a tool that just lets us block  the user were d\l FROM.  I would think this tool (plug in) is allready out there or would be easy to make. the wise ones in mx world  will lead the way:}
