Folks just how desperate are these anti file sharing companies that are now resorting to semi legal conduct to snare filesharers ? Read on...
http://www.zeropaid.com/news/story.php?id=8877MediaDefender Inc, the "leading provider of anti-piracy solutions in the emerging Internet-Piracy-Prevention (IPP) industry" has launched a website called "MiiVi" dedicated to busting those who both like to download copyrighted content as well as those who already have.
The site is apparently the latest ploy in the ongoing battle against illegal file-sharing and literally takes the game to new heights. It offers WHOLE DOWNLOADS of movies as well as the ability to download and install a "miraculous" new program that offers "fast and easy downloading all in one great site." There's just one problem: the site's registered to MediaDefender Inc. and it's army of prying eyes are just nipping at the bud to take down those who are unaware.
Media defender should more reasonably be calling themselves Media Attacker(c)
It seems they are desperate for new ways to scare filesharers and get into the news for all the wrong reasons , why ? Well last year this same company lost a few dollars in their share price because it seems they are not able to come up with the goods in controlling filesharing or piracy.
This company relies for a fair proportion of its revenue on "slush" funds held by the recording and movie industrie to maintain their monopoly and members market share, if you want to do your bit in combatting these idiots that attack our network then please remain vigilante in making sure more users utlise the blocklist for blocking their fake clients, in short close your open doors when you smell them coming
