This is more a comedy report than anything serious folks, it seems the pirate bay folks want to have some fun with a major enemy of filesharers everywhere.
http://torrentfreak.com/the-piratebay-wants-mediadefender-to-walk-the-bankruptcy-plank/The BitTorrent trackers sitting in the depths of The Pirate Bay are there for the benefit of the people, to help them distribute bandwidth intensive media worldwide at no cost. But when anti-piracy companies like Media Defender of MiiVi infamy abuse that service, it’s time to bring out the plank. They’re not welcome.
Brokep has informed Media Defender that if they manage to access the tracker, they will be breaking the terms of the Usage Policy and unfortunately, The Pirate Bay will have no choice but to invoice them at the following rates:
Basic Fee: EUR 5000
plus bandwidth
plus other costs that may arise due to the violation.
Of course, individuals, organizations and companies who use the trackers for “well meaning” purposes, such as distributing works of cultural benefit for the end user, do not need to ask permission.
As it should be eh folks
I support this great idea to lock out the lackies of the greedy who have made it their mission to monopolise the arts for profit, society should be encouraged to freely contribute to the intellectual and cultural wealth of all minds globally without having to assaile artificial monopolies set up purely to defraud joe public.
