The guys at winmx world are doing a tremendous job at keeping winmx up. I also appreciate the act that one of them took the time to explain how it works and how the architecture will change. thanks a lot guys, i wish i could help.

My problem now is that I am not sure of which patch i should use:
Setup for Existing Installs of WinMX w/ DLL patch ? or Setup for WInMX v3.54 Patched ? or Setup for Multi-versions Patched?

beside this, I generally don't like to run exes when i am not sure of what they do. It's not a matter of trust, it's just a matter of being able to undo if something goes wrong.

can someone help me?

if you already have WinMX installed simply run ' Setup for Existing Installs of WinMX w/ DLL patch '

if you have winmx, get the existing installs one, it's the smallest download & will do the job, the label has now been amended, it doesn't matter which patch you may have had previously, or even if you downloaded origial winmx from the archive & patched that...

The 3.54 b4 is was the latest and most stable version of winmx.
Most people use that
So there is a seperate installer for that.
But if you prefer an older version (mainly due to library design and some other stuff), then you can sue 3.53 or 3.31 too. The multiversion installer gives the option to choose the version of winxm you want to install

I am using winmx for xp with installed 3.54 beta4, along with the last reconnect patch setup xp-vista. I didn't know which new patch to download but since one of them said 3.54, that's the one i just installed. Am i right in choosing this? I didn't install the one for existing. Will i be ok?

just to clarify for anyone confused
existing installs will install patch
3.54 will install patch AND a fresh copy of WinMX 3.54
Multi will install patch AND a fresh copy of WinMX in whichever version you choose

if you have winmx ANY of them are "right" but existing installs is the smallest download

if you DON'T have winmx (formatted drive, lost it, need to do a fresh install, new to winmx)
EITHER 3.54 OR multi is "Right"
most people will want the latest & most stable version, which is why i made a 3.54 installer rather than multi only it makes for a smaller download

if you need to do a fresh install (reasons as above) and want an older version than 3.54 (i don't like 3.54's library for instance)
