Still no connection after patch

I don't get it.  It seems most of you have been able to reconnect with this newest patch.  I have never had any issues connecting until July 7th or 8th when I first found I couldn't connect.  At the time, there was a patch, called "setup_xp-vista.exe", which I downloaded and installed....it didn't work.  Now today, I downloaded and installed the latest patch, "3.Omod3-Patch-Only-Setup.exe", and I still can't seen to connect.  I am using Ver. 3.53 and usually connect with MxMonitor after enabling Peerguardian2. I have a DSL connection and I use ZoneAlarm normally, but even tried disabling it, with no success.  What am I doing wrong?

you need to use the   Setup for Multi-versions Patched   at the link below  that will work with ver.3.53

the installer chosen for an existing install should make no difference.. the only actual difference between existing installs & the others is the first checks for winmx being there rather than copying the exe & making shortcuts...
to be honest i'd be more inclined to suspect pg2 which blocks a huge section of the internet, including at least some caches,,,,
try connecting with pg off... KM's patch (which this is a simple edit from) blocks more effectively anyway
