connections keep dropping out

Hi there Guy's and gal's just wondering if anbody has any idea's why my connections keep dropping out and i loose my trade's,sometime's my connections can last for hour's other times just minute's, winmx reconnects again okay no problem's ther excet if i had a trade going i loose that.Any help would be very much appreciated

sounds possibly like isp throttling or blocking what net provider are you using infrontofputer & is there any pattern to when you experiance these problems eg peak times etc

Hi there cheers for ya response,I live in New Zealand ,Im on a 10 gig a month plan at high speed (around 35.00 k) after i use my allowance of 10 gig my ISP throttles me back to dial up speed (around 7.50 k) ther does not seem to be a pattern to my connection dropping out sometimes a connection can last 10 15 maybe 20 hours other times just minutes my connection has rest three times in the last hour have tried rebooting PC and my modem it all seems very random not sure whats going on

if you're connecting as a secondary (something i'd recommend with a 10 gig monthly limit) then it's entirely possible that the connection is dropping merely because the primary you connected to went offline (reboot.. closed winmx whatever)..
normally i'd suggest resolvng it by connecting primary.. but running winmx continuously (24/7) will use your allowance in under 2 weeks even with no file transfers just maintaining the connection...

losing active file transfers rather than just resetting the connection suggests the entire internet connection is involved however.. you might try asking your provider to check out the line & hardware
