connection problem

my connection problem is . I can connect after midnight , until aprox,10am then get cut out  until midnight or later . i am using XP home internet, connection is DSL, mx version3.54beta4 with a primary connection, service pack2 behind a norton firewall. everything works after midnight - uploads ,down loads and chat.  any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Hi Valkerie, unfortuneatley your problem is your ISP Tiscali, who throttle P2P traffic such as WinMX during those times, your only option to get away from this would be to change ISP

thank you micro .I thought  I had been capped got in touch with tiscali and they said ' no i had not been capped' pity they dont give out the full story, thank you for your help I will have to give it some thought about changing as her who must be obeyed likes the overall package.thxs again for the help and speed it was dealt with ,valkerie

you have not been capped as this would give you a valid reason to terminate your contract unless it was an agreed limit beforehand what it is with tiscali is throttling and using anti p2p software to stop you being able to d/load & often from connecting at all, atm tiscali are second to none in the uk for employing these tactics, that said though it would seem most other isp are begining to catch up fast ( fair usage yes but blatent blocking is a rip off to all who subscribe to "unlimited package" something the isp know they cant achieve to all even if they like you to think they can when they use the hard sell to users)

what apears to be the problem please expand & let us have details on what o/s you are using and security etc so we can try get you up and running also what patch and version of winmx you are using
