Hey DC, this could be caused by many things, the most common being a non or misconfigured router, how do you connect to the internet do you have a modem/router ?

Yes...I have a modem and wirelesss router.

Visit: http://www.portforward.com/english/applications/port_forwarding/WinMX/WinMXindex.htm and select your router make/model from the list, it will provide you with full instructions on how to configure it to work with winmx correctly
