Yes there was some changes a few weeks back.... download the patch below

https://www.winmxworld.com/patch/3.0mod3-Patch-Only-Setup.exe

Make sure your WinMX is off and run that patch...... restart WinMX and you should
be able to connect.

Hi Bren,

The first thing I would do is make sure that if your running a firewall (and dont forget to check your XP one if your on Windows XP) is allowing WinMX, its a good idea sometimes to remove WinMX from firewall rules and then restart it allowing your Firewall to ask you again for permissions.

If your running other software firewalls check that XP one is not one.  They are bad about restarting themselves especially if you have done any Microsoft updates lately.

Post back and let us know.

I have been using WinMX for a long time but recently it takes a long time to come up on my computer screen when I click the desktop icon, and then I can never get the green connectivity bar to come on. I have windows xp and dont know a lot about computers. Can anyone help?

for those of you that haven't used the 3.54 beta and upgrade...........do it. it still works. i have great connectivity hesitate to add more until the storm has pasted. i can't believe King would issue something like that unless he was pressured under duress to make a statement..............keep it together. we have before. Burrito,
Can you be a bit more specific?  Is it just a few secondary users? and is everything else ie: Chat list, searches, uploads working fine?

Wogarl,

Be sure you have the latest patch installed you can try getting it from this link:

http://www.mxomega.com/Forum2/connection.php
Once youve installed this if your still not connecting could you let us know some details, what firewalls you use and what Operating system your on?

For the record, KMs statement and order will have no effect on anyone who is already patched and running, so yes lets not panic.. we're all just fine atm.
