WCS error
« on: July 18, 2007, 12:05:50 am »
"The application, C:\CHAT\WCS\wcs.exe, generated an application error The error occurred on 07/17/2007 @ 15:28:39.067 The exception generated was c0000005 at address 00414B59 (wcs)"

Any thoughts on what caused this error and how to prevent it in the future ? Wcs closed completely. didnt restart on its own as it would normally if it was an isp thing .

if i remember correctly c00000005 stands for memory access violation, the program is trying to access a part of memory that hasnt been allocated to it.

When trying to start wcs server I get the following message.
09/10/2007 11:08:46 Error: It has been detected that you have some form of WPN connection modification in effect on your system, this is not required and may cause connection issues.

It is strongly recommended that you remove it.

I haven't hosted for 1 month but plan on hosting soon,  What is the error about

KM continue is WCS and for the error c00000005, I don't know why WCS is trying to access some memory not allocated to it...

I think that error comes up if your using the pie patch. If you use the wmw patch it will go away. lol  :)

Nop it's just not logic Raven lol

I think WCS is trying to read or write some memories on another thread and it got an error...

I think were talking about two different errors.
Error: It has been detected that you have some form of WPN connection modification in effect on your system, this is not required and may cause connection issues.
This one comes up when you open wcs its due to the host file being modified my mxpie. I have no idea about the memory error in previous posts. :)

I suspected that you were talking about the other error not related to my post.  But,  I installed the other patch  and then re-installed wcs.  Same problem.  Deleted it again and installed the MXpie patch and again same problem.  It won't connect to the server.  And the same error as previously stated.  Something has happened related to wcs that I can't pinpoint.  It worked before with the configuration that I have

The thing about installing the mxpie.info patch is it over writes your host file. Look in Windows/System 32/Drivers/Etc and open your host file with notepad. I think you'll find that its been modified by mxpie. Hopefully you backed up your host file before you installed the mxpie patch. If not delete it, reinstall with the wmw patch installer found here ....  https://patch.winmxconex.com/. You might also need to reboot and flush dns. This isn't an easy thing to get rid of.

I hope this helps. :)
